Statement Re Choices: Which Documents to Use

from Una St Clair, Executive Director, Citizens for Safe Technology Society

Some confusion has occurred about which documents/letters are the best to use to avoid having a smart meter installed.

The letters/signs available on Citizens for Safe Technology and the Coalition to Stop Smart Meters websites have been used for the past 2 years and have been approved by a lawyer.

The Claim of Right documentation, which is not included on our websites, has been in circulation since October 2012.

It is difficult to know for sure which documents and letters are most effective. We all want to keep our analog meters and it is up to us individually to read through all documents, letters, and signs and decide for ourselves which ones we think we should use.

There is no guarantee. Personally, we believe it is more hit and miss, depending on the installer's personality and integrity as to whether any signs, letters or documents are honoured. Reports from all over the province are varied: some analogs are left alone, some smart meters are installed.
